HISTORY (Silybum marianum)

Extracts of cardo mariano (Silybum marianum) is used in folk medicine for over 2000 years. In 'ancient Greece was mixed with honey to soothe the cough. For many centuries the thistle was used as a remedy for bronchitis, but it was not until the 15th century was that "is recognized as an excellent detoxifying.
